It was named after London, England in 1826 in hope of becoming the capital but instead York (Toronto) became so. It is also known as Forest City since it was a “city within a forest.”
The city gave birth to some awesome people like Rachel McAdams, Ryan Gosling, Justin Bieber (lol), YouTube star shimmycocopuffsss, and me of course ;)
And finally, we had/have some influential people live here too like Frederick Banting (the founder of insulin) and Chil Yong Kang (the founder of the HIV vaccine).
